Hi, I’m Camlo. I was born and raised in San Francisco—the youngest of four in a family where community activism wasn’t just talked about, it was lived. My parents were champions for housing justice, reentry programs, and historic preservation. Their work planted the seeds that continue to shape my life and purpose today.
My own path has been both winding and intentional. I studied on the East Coast and in South Africa, gaining a global lens and sense of independence. I built a decorative arts company, earned my real estate license, worked in luxury resort development, and eventually joined a fast-paced San Francisco startup as Director of Sales. Each experience brought lessons, but something was missing.
That “something” led me back to my roots. For the past decade, I’ve been working with Tenderloin Housing Clinic, where I now serve as Senior Associate Director of Property Management. My days are filled with scheduling chaos, tough calls, and the constant need for adaptability—but also, the unmatched reward of helping provide stable housing for people who need it most.
Outside of work, I’m usually hiking, digging into garden soil, cooking a meal from scratch, or exploring new places with my family. Being a father is the greatest joy and grounding force in my life.
This blog is a space to share stories from all these corners—work, life, growth, failure, curiosity, and hope. Thanks for being here.
